The Out of State Placement Policy Unit (OSPPU) is seeking an Analyst II, will consider a Analyst I to conduct activities associated with ensuring that foster care and probation youth are placed in foster care or adoptive families across state lines receive uninterrupted support services and adequate protection in compliance with the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC). Under the direction of the Supervisor I the Analyst I/II is responsible for policy related activities regarding the ICPC and review of program statements for out of state group homes to ensure they are following the Short Term Residential Treatment Program (STRTP) standards.
The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills, be self-directed and able to work both independently and as part of a team, and be able to effectively collaborate with a variety of entities including county child welfare and social services and probation staff, other states, advocacy groups, and other departmental and state agency staff. Previous experience in the delivery of training, policy development and preparation and adoption of regulations is desirable. Some travel is required.

Working Conditions
This work location is very convenient! The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation: within walking distance to the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmer's markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 80.
This position is eligible for hybrid work in accordance with the Governor's Executive Order N-22-25 and at the sole discretion of the Department of Social Services under California Government Code Section 14200. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be re-evaluated at any time. The incumbent will be expected to report for in office work and attend work related in-person events as deemed operationally necessary. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the CDSS policies. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
Please note: Regular commute is not compensable.
