We currently have a great opportunity for a Design Director. The Design Director will work cross functionally with Production, Sales and Merchandising to create and develop seasonal apparel lines while supporting the overall brand?s objective.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead trend meetings each season. Deliver compelling presentations at OJG and buyer meetings
  • Shop key domestic and Global markets for trend, color, material direction and product opportunities
  • Design garments with the brand-right aesthetic, quality, material and fit within price parameters
  • Design the line according to classification/style plans, sales needs and emerging trends
  • Manage and adhere to time and action calendar
  • Lead seasonal color direction and color palette building
  • Manage all overseas communication with sample rooms to ensure correct and timely samples
  • Attend all comparison fittings, proto fittings and production fittings to ensure we have the best fit and details.
  • Build strong relationships with sales, production, tech, fabric R&D and buyers
  • Lead techpacking schedule and execution to ensure deadlines are met
  • Contribute to design of garments, sketching and creation of spec sheets.
  • Create and maintain PLM with Adobe Illustrator sketches to detail each style with all information regarding style development
  • Follow weekly sales reports to determine successful category to be exploited and evolved
  • Determine appropriate styling and price structure based on knowledge of customer profile and store structure
  • Manage training of staff as needed
  • Responsible for merchandising and presenting a balanced assortment
  • Responsible for monitoring budget of original purchases and sample lot development
