Job description

P-8A Support Equipment Tech Keflavik, Iceland

Company:

Boeing Aerospace Operations

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Mid -Level Support Equipment Technician to support the USN P-8 program located in Jacksonville, FL.

This is a long term assignment to Keflavik, Iceland subject to business conditions and individual performance. Relocation/assignmentbenefits to the international relocation will be provided.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Lead Technician as needed in daily accomplishments and tasking

  • Maintain a limited number of systems by removing, replacing, repairing or upgrading components

  • Troubleshoot problems to isolate faulty components

  • Conduct routine functional tests by operating equipment and using appropriate test equipment

  • Perform a variety of visual inspections as required by equipment maintenance documents

  • Document maintenance and inspection actions as required

  • Create and maintain maintenance, calibration and inventory tracking systems

  • At the sole discretion of leadership, employee must be willing and able (on potentially short-notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work. Unless compelling reasons exist, failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation

  • Work under general supervision and with minimal direction

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years' experience maintaining aircraft Ground Support Equipment

  • Ability to work and support a 24/7 on-call rotation environment

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice; as much as 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)

  • General automotive servicing experience with an electrical, hydraulic, and internal combustion engine background

Ex-Pat Information:

  • Candidate must be able to obtain a work visa, depending on requirements of the country

  • Candidate must be able to meet the cultural requirements of the country, as applicable

  • Employment is contingent on the candidate's ability to satisfy all labor and immigration formalities of the country

  • Because the candidate selected will be expected to go on an international assignment, the offer will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to obtain clearances from International Health Services and the receipt of a visa/work permit to the country in which he or she will be assigned. These contingencies also apply to any/all family members who may be relocating with the candidate.

Relocation:

Domestic relocation is not authorized for this position. Candidate will be located in Jacksonville, FL, before they leave for their international assignment to Keflavik, Iceland.
