Provo City Peaks Ice Arena is hiring part-time Learn-to-Skate Ice Instructors to coach new skaters at the Peaks Ice Arena. This position involves working in the rink with skaters on a variety of levels based on coaching proficiency.

What is the compensation?

$10.00 per hour. Payment will be by direct deposit.

What will I do?

  • Instruct participants ages two to adult in ice skating from the beginning to intermediate level.

  • Assist the Skating Coordinator and other Recreation staff members as needed.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

What requirements do I need to apply?

  • Sufficient ice skating experience which would demonstrate an ability to perform the duties of the job.

  • Preference given to candidates who have previously instructed or coached.

  • Previous experience working with children may be beneficial.


What are the hours?

Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5:00 -7:00 p.m., Wednesdays 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and Saturday mornings 10:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.
What are the physical and environmental factors?

This work requires physical strength and agility to perform the work, including, standing and/or ice-skating during instruction and minor bending; the ability to work outside in the cold and other weather conditions; and work with the public in possibly stressful situations.

What is the selection process?

This is an open file posting. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted for any positions available at that time. They will remain on file for a minimum of 60 days. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.

If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
