Job description

Provide support as directed by designated supervisor.

1. Customer Service Support: works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission; responsible for the LaHaye Ice Center closing and opening duties; direct guests that visit the facility to view the rink, attend an event, or attend a meeting; communicates with full-time staff regarding expected visitors and scheduled meetings.
2. Swiper: front desk staff are responsible for recording all outside guests, students, faculty, and alumni that visit the LaHaye Ice Center for any reason; record the number of guests that use the facility on a day-to-day basis for the purpose of reporting to the university.
3. Packages/mail: facilitate all incoming packages to LaHaye Ice Center full-time staff and Club Sports coaches. Direct packages inside the rink to the appropriate office or communicate with coaches located outside the office regarding a received package.
4. Phone Calls: receive phone calls from outside public to both the LaHaye Ice Center and Club Sports line on the front desk phone; answer frequently asked questions regarding coaches contact information, hockey camps inquiries, public skating/public session questions, requesting ice rental opportunities, and disseminating information about hockey games and ticket acquisition.
5. TouchNet: take payments for facilities events and usage; complete transactions including club sports team dues, team apparel purchases, concessions purchases, and public event admission for public skates, open hockey, or freestyle sessions.
6. Club Sports Administrative Support: assist full-time staff and coaches in administrative responsibilities such as: updating the University-wide scheduling service, updating the inter-rink scheduling document, and other ad-hoc requests; assist in document creation for Club Sports or Customer Service needs; occasionally fill-in for concessions staffing needs, support by working club-sports events to assist staffing needs.

7. Serve in a capacity that supports the needs of the department.
8. Provide support to coaches/Student-athletes as needed or directed.
9. Assigned duties from supervisor(s).
10. Remains abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and leading industry performance benchmarks.
11. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission.
