Registered Nurse (RN) - Full-Time Nights
Location: ICE Detention Health Services Facility - Florence, Arizona
Provide high-quality nursing care in a secure federal healthcare setting serving individuals detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This role offers a collaborative environment supporting ambulatory, emergency, mental health, and infirmary care.
Schedule & Work Hours
  • Full-Time Night Shift
  • Consistent night schedule (8, 10, or 12-hour shifts based on facility needs)
Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers comprehensive patient care, including intake assessments, sick call evaluations, emergency response, and supervision of clinical staff. This role is critical in ensuring safe, effective, and timely care within a multidisciplinary team.
Duties / Key Responsibilities
  • Perform intake screening and physical examinations to identify conditions requiring referral or treatment
  • Conduct sick call and manage common acute conditions using established nursing guidelines
  • Complete nursing rounds for patients in the infirmary and segregated housing units
  • Provide direct patient care and monitor patient status
  • Administer medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous, topical, ophthalmic, and other approved routes
  • Perform treatments such as wound care, vital signs, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and other ordered procedures
  • Collect laboratory specimens, perform point-of-care testing, and act on lab results appropriately
  • Respond to medical emergencies, stabilize patients, and coordinate transfer to higher levels of care
  • Refer patients to physicians, NP/PAs, behavioral health providers, and dental providers as needed
  • Supervise Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (LPNs/LVNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel
  • Assist providers by gathering subjective and objective patient data
  • Participate in involuntary or court-ordered care when required
Qualifications
  • Current, full, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in any U.S. state (Compact license preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year RN experience in a hospital, clinic, or residential setting
  • Experience in a correctional, detention, or residential healthcare setting preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE)
  • Foreign graduates must possess a current, active, and unrestricted RN registration
