Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) Trauma Bay/Ward/Clinic Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC)- Level 1 Trauma Center

MDPerm is seeking an experienced Trauma Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to support high-acuity trauma services at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), one of the Department of Defenseโs premier Level I Trauma Centers.
This role supports emergent and ongoing management of critically injured patients in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary military treatment facility.
Position Overview The selected provider will deliver advanced trauma care in the Emergency Department, trauma bay, ICU, step-down units, medical-surgical wards, and the trauma clinic. Providers must be confident in functioning independently within the scope of practice and collaboratively within a trauma team environment.
Key Responsibilities Provide emergent management of high-acuity trauma patients in the ED and trauma bay
Participate in trauma resuscitationsย
Provide care during trauma CT imaging for unstable patients
Perform advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within scope of practice
Manage Trauma patients in ICU, step-down, and inpatient trauma units
Provide follow-up care in the trauma clinic
Co-manage patients with multiple comorbidities
Prescribe medications in accordance with approved treatment protocols
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery
Collaborate with trauma surgeons, emergency physicians, nursing, and specialty services
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff education
Minimum Qualifications For Physician Assistant (PA):
Graduate of an ARC-PA-accredited program
Bachelorโs or Masterโs degree
NCCPA Certified
Current, full, active, unrestricted U.S. license
BLS and ACLS (AHA or Red Cross)
For Nurse Practitioner (NP):
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
National board certification
Current, full, active, unrestricted U.S. license
BLS and ACLS (AHA or Red Cross)
Experience Requirements Minimum one (1) year of experience in Emergency, Trauma or Critical Care settings
Must have actively practiced within the last two (2) years
Ability to function independently in high-acuity clinical environments
