Job description

Job Summary

Hockey Development Ambassadors consist of energetic, motivated individuals with a positive attitude, that are excited about the growth of hockey in the Tampa Bay Area. Members of the team help support youth hockey initiatives in the community, with the goal of introducing children to the game of hockey, mentoring, and developing hockey players, and creating lifelong Tampa Bay Lightning fans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set-up and execute ball hockey clinics within the Tampa Bay Area and surrounding communities. These clinics will be held at schools, communitycentersand outdoor ball hockey rinks that have been built by the Lightning Foundation.

  • Coach Lightning ice hockey programs along with Alumni and full-time staff at local ice rinks. These programs consist of; Learn to Skate, Learn to Play, Rookie League and other clinics.

  • Help execute youth hockey camps, providingon andoff icesupport. These camps run during the summer and holiday breaks.

  • Act as a league representative/scorekeeper at Lightning High School Hockey League (LHSHL) games

  • Assistwith scorekeeping, coaching, and otheroff icesupport for the Lightning Heroes League.

  • Assistwith executing major events such as Hockey Fest, Hockey Day, Girls Hockey weekend and other hockey development events.

  • Assistwithexecuting ballhockey leagues, birthday parties, and other events at the Lightning Made Training Center.

  • Lightning representative/referee at outdoor rink ball hockey leagues andschool'sleagues.

  • In addition to the programs below,lookingforgirl'shockeycoach'sboth on and off the ice. Thesecoach'smust be motivated to help support the growth of girl's hockey.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • This position requires successful completion of a Level II Background Check

  • Must be able to teach,encourageandeffectively managechildren ranging from 1stto 12thgrade.

  • Candidates must be high-energy, positive, teamplayers.

  • Must be available to work a minimum of two shifts per week.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to stand onfeetforlong periodsof time, walk longdistancesand climb stairs.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language

  • Ability to work in areas that can become crowded with equipment and/or people

  • Ability to work comfortably around special effects including, but not limitedto:haze, strobe lights, lasers, etc.

  • Ability to work in loud environments

  • Ability to lift and carry up to25lbs

  • Must be able to walk up to 0.5 miles to and from designated employee parking areas, including in varying weather conditions and during high-traffic event times

  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Must be able to work in cold/hotindoorand outdoor temperatures
