Job description

Job Summary

The Ice Operations Ice Crew teamis responsible formaintainingsafe, high-quality ice conditions and supporting all rink operations during hockey games and ice events. Team members perform pregame setup, on-ice maintenance during timeouts and intermissions, and postgame breakdown while ensuring equipment, benches, and game areas are prepared andmaintainedto professional standards.

Essential duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsibleforcleaningall glass around the ice rink

  • Assure all benches, including players, visiting team and penalty benches are cleanandfree of debris

  • Responsible to set up game area including laying mats for officials, setting out equipment such as cans for snow, shovels,squeegees,and scrappers

  • Set seating area for the ice crew,chairs,road cases

  • Assure Glass Cut Station is setproperly,and all supplies and tools are present

  • Responsible to prepare ice for pregame skate by setting practice nets/swap with game nets after pre-game skate

  • Remove snow from ice during TV timeouts in a quick and efficient manner

  • Responsible to remove nets during intermission for theresurfacer, patch holes, squeegee goalie area and replace nets in a quick and efficient manner

  • Responsible to remove nets and clean- up of benches postgame

  • Break down seating area and Glass Cut Station, returntoolsand supplies post-game

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previousexperience in ice rink operations, hockey, sports entertainment, or event operations is a preferred

  • Strong skating abilityrequired

  • Effective communication skills

  • Good timemanagement skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability tomultitaskand takedirectionwell.

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure

  • Ability to work in large crowds for an extendedperiod of time

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in office and arena environment that can be exciting,loudand distracting

  • Ability to work extended hours including late nights, holidays, and weekends as needed

  • Ability to lift/carry/move up to 50lbs

  • Ability to work in cold/hot indoor and outdoor temperatures

  • Ability to use hands and fingersonoffice and mobile technology

  • Ability to work in areas that can become crowded with equipment and/or people

  • Ability to movecomfortablethroughout the arena with minimalaccommodations

  • Ability to stand onfeetforlong periodsof time, walk longdistancesand climb stairs.

  • Ability to workcomfortablearound special effects including, but not limitedto:haze, strobe lights, lasers,etc

  • Must be able to walk up to 0.5 miles to and from designated employee parking areas, including in varying earther conditions and during high-traffic event times
