THE ROLE
Fishers Event Center has an excellent and immediate opening for a part-time Ice Crew Member. Ice Crew team members maintain the quality and safety of the ice surface along with resurfacing for preparation for various activities and ensuring a positive experience for guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with maintenance of ice (shoveling, moving nets, etc.) and operating associated equipment as required.

  • Ice crew members are the group responsible for skating on the ice to remove snow and ice build-up during media timeouts.

  • Assist with the cleaning, minor maintenance and proper storage of all ice event related equipment, including Ice Paint machine, Ice Resurfacing

  • Support each ice event in a professional manner and ensure the ice is ready for each event.

  • Work with operations department to ensure ice is prepared and maintained to NHL standards.

  • Maintain glass and walls according to ASM Global/Fishers Event Center and Indy Fuel's standards.

  • Check your work area and report any deficiencies or problems.

  • Assists ice resurface drivers by moving hockey nets during and after games.

  • Assist with the cleaning, minor maintenance and proper storage of all ice event related equipment, including Ice Paint machine, Ice Resurfacing

  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Previous experience in ice rink maintenance similar roles

Skills and Abilities
  • Experience working in an ice rink setting in front of large crowds preferred.

  • Candidates will possess an outgoing personality, good energy, positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, professionalism, poise, strong communication abilities, strong work ethic and reliability.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software. Knowledge of Spreadsheets helpful.
  • Ability to skate cam be helpful, but is not required.
