THE ROLE:

In partnership with factory leadership, employees, and the broader HR team, the Assistant HR People Partner helps create a safe, respectful, inclusive, and high-performing workplace aligned with The Magnum Ice Cream Company values and Ben & Jerry's Three-Part Mission.

This role serves as a trusted HR resource supporting day-to-day people operations at the St. Albans manufacturing facility. The Assistant HR People Partner provides guidance on employee relations matters, supports talent and capability development, manages employee lifecycle processes, coordinates accommodations and leave-related matters, and helps ensure consistent application of policies, labor agreements, and employment practices. The role plays a critical part in building employee trust, strengthening workforce engagement, and delivering an exceptional employee experience.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Support employees and frontline leaders regarding HR policies, employee concerns, attendance, performance, and workplace issues.
  • Support a positive employee experience by building trusted relationships across the manufacturing workforce.
  • Support hourly employee candidate experience, orientation, and onboarding processes.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and fact-finding activities while ensuring fair, respectful, and consistent treatment of employees.
  • Coordinate performance management activities, corrective action processes, and coaching discussions with leaders.
  • Support leave administration processes and employee return-to-work activities.
  • Assist with grievance administration, labor relations activities, and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements in partnership with the Senior HRBP.
  • Maintain employee records and support HR transactions, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze people metrics such as attendance, turnover, overtime, vacancies, employee relations trends, and onboarding effectiveness to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with factory leadership teams to support engagement initiatives, culture-building activities, communication programs, and recognition efforts.
  • Seek continuous improvement opportunities in HR processes, policies, and ways of working to improve employee experience and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies, employment practices, and legal requirements.
  • Support organizational changes, workforce initiatives, and transformation activities as required.

Skills, Experiences & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial Relations, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or distribution environment.
  • Demonstrated experience handling employee relations matters, investigations, performance management, and workplace conflict resolution.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. employment laws, including wage and hour practices, leave management, accommodations, and workplace compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting unionized workforces or labor relations environments preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility and trust with hourly employees, supervisors, and leaders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Action-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset and ability to identify practical solutions to workplace challenges.
  • Proficient in HR systems, reporting tools, Microsoft Office applications, data analytics, and automated workflow administration, including experience with UKG WFM or similar workforce management platforms.
  • Flexibility to support evening operations and employee populations across multiple shifts.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $71,400 to$107,200.The Magnum Ice Cream Company (TMICC)takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
