Details:
Role: IBM Streams
Location: Charlotte, NC and Plano, TX - Hybrid
Duration: 12 months
Position Summary:
  • Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non functional, and compliance requirements. Ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns. At this level, specializations start to form in either Architecture, Test Engineering or DevOps.
  • Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements.
  • Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle.
  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements, Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Designs/develops/modifies architecture.
Required Skills:
  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant IT software experience (hands on technical development)
  • 3+ years of IBM Streams experience
  • Knowledge of Event Streaming or Event Driven Architecture.
  • Deep understanding of multi-tier architectures and exposure to Core Java/J2EE (ISP, Servlets, JDBC, INDI, EJB, JMS), REST, SOAP, XML, IBM MQ
  • Open source frameworks and tools such as Spring, Spring boot, Apache Kafka, Log4l/slf41
  • Database: RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL) and NoSQL (Redis, Cassandra, or MongoDB)
  • JBOSS, Tomcat, WebSphere or equivalent application servers .
  • Unix shell scrip
  • Version control and build tools (e.g. Maven, Jenkins, Ant, Git, Subversion)
  • Prior experience of working with globally distributed teams
  • Quick learner and self-starter who requires minimal supervision to excel in a dynamic environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Skills:
  • Agile driven development Front-end Tech: Angular
  • Strong understanding and experience with security implementations (e.g. SSL/mutual SSL, PKI strategies, SAML, OAuth, Siteminder, WS-Auth).
