  • Review Java application behaviour, including memory utilization, garbage collection, threading, connection management, and application-server performance.
  • Evaluate IBM i system performance, including workload management, job activity, CPU and memory consumption, subsystem configuration, and system resource utilization.
  • Assess DB2 database performance, including query execution, indexing, access paths, SQL efficiency, locking, database configuration, and workload behaviour.
  • Research and evaluate technical options to inform solution architecture and modernization strategies.
  • Architect solutions spanning Java, PHP, IBM i, DB2, and other relevant technologies based on the unique requirements of each engagement.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable, and supportable solution designs.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions, architecture workshops, and solution-design discussions with clients and internal teams.
  • Present, explain, and defend architectural recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Produce clear architecture documentation, technical specifications, diagrams, recommendations, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, database, delivery, and client teams to support successful implementation.
  • Champion the effective use of architecture standards, development tools, performance-monitoring tools, and delivery best practices.
  • Serve as a senior technical escalation point during discovery, development, testing, deployment, and production-support activities.
  • Balance modernization objectives with the realities of complex legacy and mission-critical environments.

  • Experience designing solutions for complex, integrated, and business-critical application environments.
  • Strong technical documentation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
