Job description


We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.
As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Banking Trust and Security Technology, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS
  • Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Kubernetes (EKS) and ECS
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and system
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration management
  • Implement logging and tracing using ELK Stack, Splunk, Dynatrace, and AWS CloudWatch
  • Collaborate with development teams to trouble shoot and ensure smooth deployment and operation of applications
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software development lifecycle
  • Ensure disaster recovery strategies are in place using multi-region deployments, backups, and failover mechanisms
  • Evaluate (Continuously) and implement modern technologies and tools to improve operational efficiency
  • Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness
  • Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering and/or DevOps
  • Experience in Java, Spring Boot or scripting languages such as Bash, Shell, and Python
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices.
  • Strong expertise in AWS services including EC2, S3, EKS, ECS Fargate, VPC, IAM, and networking Atlas 2.0
  • Proven track record of building and managing continual automation deployment delivery environments
  • Proficiency in using Terraform for infrastructure as code
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and (ECS) for container orchestration
  • Proven track record designing and implementing comprehensive observability solutions (metrics, logging, tracing, alerting) and automating complex CI/CD workflows using Jenkins, Spinnaker, or similar platforms
  • Experience with security best practices in cloud environments

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience with any rule engines such as IBM ODM
  • Worked with IBM ODM deployment and Containerization
  • Experience with AI and Copilot concepts
