Job description

Allied Machine & Engineering, headquartered in Dover, Ohio, is a leading global manufacturer of hole making and finishing cutting tool systems. Our tooling solutions deliver the lowest cost per hole in a wide range of applications.

LOCATION: Fully remote

THIS POSITION REPORTS TO:  Programming Supervisor

ROLE:  Entry level position to write code for existing plans.  Be able to support and maintain existing applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Work with AMEC associates to determine application requirements.
  • Identify and document proposed application functionality and specifications for review.
  • Code new applications.
  • Document final product in detail.
  • Develop and deliver user training for new AMEC applications.
  • Maintain current AMEC applications by providing usage and defect support.
  • Modify existing AMEC applications as necessary.
  • Provide support for AMEC custom applications.
  • Other tasks as deemed appropriate by Manager.

Education:      

  • Two year degree in Computer Science, preferred.

Experience:    

  • Two years in a similar role, preferred.

Skills:              

  • Familiarity with Windows and/or System i environments, required.
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages; required
  •  Visual Basic, HTML, SQL, MS Access, ASP.NET, MVC, Java, C#, or RPG.
