About Our Product

OpenText Voltage SecureData is a leading data-centric encryption platform protecting sensitive information across cloud, on-premises, and mainframe environments.

We are expanding our Voltage SecureData development team and looking for a hands-on Lead Software Developer to build and enhance secure, scalable cryptographic libraries, SDKs, and platform integrations used by organizations worldwide. You will work across software development, cybersecurity, cryptography, and cross-platform development to solve complex technical challenges and deliver enterprise-grade security solutions.

This position requires employees to be based near and work from one of OpenText's Canadian office locations. Specific work arrangements will align with current OpenText workplace policies.

Your Impact:

As a member of the Voltage SecureData development g team, you will:

Design, develop, and maintain security-critical software components using C/C++, Java, and C#/.NET.
Build and enhance cryptographic libraries, SDKs, APIs, and cross-platform integrations.
Develop portable solutions across Linux, Windows, macOS, UNIX, IBM z/OS, and HPE NonStop environments.
Lead technical design discussions, code reviews, architecture decisions, and development best practices.
Improve software quality through automation, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development practices.
Troubleshoot complex client and platform issues and deliver scalable solutions.
Mentor developers and collaborate with QA, product, and development teams to deliver secure, reliable software.

What you need to succeed:

7+ years of professional software development experience with strong expertise in C/C++.
Strong systems programming experience across Linux, Windows, or UNIX-based platforms.
Experience building portable, cross-platform enterprise software.
Solid understanding of applied cryptography, including encryption, TLS/SSL, certificates, key management, and authentication.
Experience with API design, native integrations, SDK development, and CI/CD tools such as CMake, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
Experience leading technical discussions, mentoring developers, and driving development improvements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Must be able to work from one of OpenText's Canadian office locations and collaborate effectively with distributed global teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with PKCS#11, HSM integrations, or security platforms (nCipher, Atalla, Thales Luna).
Knowledge of FIPS 140, post-quantum cryptography, PCI-DSS, EMV, or ISO 8583 standards.
Experience with IBM z/OS, HPE NonStop, COBOL/native interfaces, or other enterprise platforms.

Hands-on experience with Java, and C#/.NET development.
Experience with AI-assisted development tools in production development environments.
