Job description:- 

Experienced Senior Mainframe Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in designing, developing, and supporting complex, large-scale enterprise mainframe applications in high-volume production environments.

Accountable for the technical execution of assigned mainframe applications, including system design, batch and online architecture, prototype development, coding, and performance optimization.

Collaborates closely with business users, customers, internal stakeholders, and technical product managers to enhance platform stability, scalability, and operational capabilities.

Leads and enforces mainframe engineering best practices across teams, including code reviews, JCL standards, version control, CI/CD implementation, release management, and production support processes.

Enables teams to implement automated and scalable deployment solutions across development, QA, UAT, and production mainframe environments.

Applies deep industry and domain expertise to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system issues while providing strategic technical recommendations.

Partners with leadership teams to design and implement resilient, secure, and high-performing mainframe solutions that improve software maturity and operational excellence.

Guides the technical direction of the team and contributes to modernization initiatives and long-term platform roadmap planning.

Fosters a culture of continuous improvement through mentoring junior engineers, providing actionable feedback, and leveraging operational metrics for performance optimization.

Minimum 5+ years of proven experience in Mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, IMS, MQ Series, and z/OS environments.

Strong experience in batch processing, online transaction systems, production support, debugging, and performance tuning using tools such as Abend-AID, File-AID, IBM Debug Tool, Tivoli, Splunk, Dynatrace, and Kibana.

Hands-on experience with RESTful API integration, Kafka/event-driven systems, ITIL processes, scheduling tools like Control-M, and exposure to cloud and mainframe modernization concepts is an added advantage
