Senior IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) / IBM MQ Integration Engineer

Our client is seeking a Senior IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) / IBM MQ Integration Engineer to join their enterprise technology team in Central North Dallas. This hybrid position supports mission-critical middleware, enterprise integration platforms, cloud technologies, automation initiatives, and emerging AI solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior integration professional with deep expertise in IBM MQ, IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE)/IBM Integration Bus (IIB), Azure, automation, and enterprise application integration. The ideal candidate will have experience designing, supporting, securing, and optimizing enterprise message flows while collaborating closely with software developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Due to client requirements, this opportunity is limited to U.S. Citizens and s eligible to obtain the appropriate clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, troubleshoot, patch, and support IBM MQ and IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE)/IBM Integration Bus (IIB) environments.
  • Design, deploy, and support enterprise integration solutions and message flows between critical business applications.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot IBM ACE message flows, APIs, and integration services.
  • Implement secure API and messaging solutions using IBM ACE security best practices.
  • Design resilient integration processes that gracefully handle downstream system failures, retries, error handling, and recovery.
  • Collaborate closely with software development teams to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application integrations and message flows.
  • Support CI/CD deployment pipelines for IBM ACE using tools such as Jenkins and GitHub.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, Linux shell scripting, or similar technologies.
  • Administer Microsoft Azure and Power Platform environments supporting enterprise applications.
  • Support enterprise job scheduling platforms including UC4/Automic.
  • Monitor system performance, middleware health, and application availability while proactively identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Support AI application integration initiatives where appropriate.
  • Participate in production deployments, upgrades, change management, and operational support.
  • Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and architecture standards.
  • Support SOX compliance, security initiatives, backup/recovery procedures, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on middleware and integration technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of enterprise middleware, application integration, or infrastructure engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering and supporting IBM MQ.
  • 5+ years of experience with IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) and/or IBM Integration Bus (IIB).
  • Experience developing, supporting, and troubleshooting enterprise message flows and integrations.
  • Experience implementing API security and authentication within IBM ACE.
  • Experience designing resilient integrations that handle downstream application failures, retry logic, and exception processing.
  • Experience debugging message flows alongside application development teams.
  • Experience implementing or supporting CI/CD pipelines for IBM ACE deployments using Jenkins, GitHub, or similar tools.
  • Strong scripting experience using:
    • PowerShell
    • Python
    • Linux/Unix Shell
  • Experience administering Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Experience supporting enterprise AI integrations is a plus.
  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
