Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Maximo Application Developer to support a mission-critical enterprise asset management environment serving a national security customer. This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies while designing, configuring, and enhancing IBM Maximo applications that support complex operational environments.

The ideal candidate is a senior-level software professional with extensive experience customizing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) enterprise applications, developing scalable solutions, and collaborating across engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and customer teams.

Position Overview

As the Senior Maximo Application Developer, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for designing, configuring, developing, and maintaining IBM Maximo-based applications supporting enterprise operations. You will help modernize business processes, implement new capabilities, troubleshoot production issues, and mentor development teams while ensuring compliance with security and enterprise standards.

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD

Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite

Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, configuration, customization, and implementation of IBM Maximo solutions supporting enterprise operations.
  • Configure and develop workflows, automation scripts, UI components, integrations, security roles, and application enhancements.
  • Translate business and operational requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain integrations using REST APIs, middleware, LDAP/SSO, MIF, and OSLC technologies.
  • Support application lifecycle activities including development, testing, deployment, upgrades, patching, and production support.
  • Troubleshoot complex application issues and provide root cause analysis and long-term solutions.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure engineers, cybersecurity teams, database administrators, business analysts, and government stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security policies, and configuration management standards.
  • Produce technical documentation, design artifacts, implementation guides, and knowledge transfer documentation.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership throughout project execution.
  • Recommend process improvements and emerging technologies to improve system performance and reliability.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and at least 12 years of software development experience. Four additional years of experience may substitute for a degree. A master's degree may substitute for two years of experience, and an approved industry certification may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Extensive experience supporting commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) enterprise applications such as IBM Maximo, ERP, EAM, CRM, or other enterprise asset management platforms.
  • Strong experience configuring, customizing, or developing enterprise applications.
  • Experience developing Java-based or web-based enterprise applications.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience supporting applications throughout development, testing, and production.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and provide architectural guidance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn IBM Maximo and related enterprise technologies.
