COMMERCIAL VEHICLE REMOVE & INSTALL TECHNICIAN I-IV

FRAZER LTD.

Houston, TX

Full-time

Job description

Do you want to be the person on the floor who can build a door right - panels, hardware, glass, the works - and make the paint match the unit perfectly every time? Do you take quiet pride in fitment so clean nobody has to touch it twice? Are you the technician others come to when a build won't cooperate? Do you keep getting better because mastering the craft is its own reward, not because someone told you to?

If this sounds like you, then we need to talk...

Frazer, a leading builder of emergency medical vehicles and mobile healthcare units, is seeking a Commercial Vehicle Remove & Install Technician to join our Paint - Doors team. This is a skilled auto-body role: you'll prep, paint, build, and install the doors that go onto units protecting patients and first responders every day. The work has to be precise, and it has to be right - because people depend on it.

What Does a Week in the Life of the Commercial Vehicle Remove & Install Technician Look Like?

  • Preps and body-works door sets to a paint-ready standard, correcting surface defects before anything hits the booth.

  • Paints doors and dials in two-tone and metallic matches to the unit - mocking color, transferring lines, and walking the door to the unit to verify.

  • Builds out the door: panels, handles, actuators, rods, regulators, glass, rubber, insulation, and latch/striker hardware, all fitted to operate smoothly.

  • Installs finished doors on the unit and adjusts alignment, gaps, and closure until the fit is tight and the seal is right.

  • Troubleshoots fit and function issues and corrects the root cause, not just the symptom.

  • Looks up specs in Job Manager and signs off operations in ShopTrack as work moves through.

  • Inspects paint match, fit, and function before release - and refuses to pass anything that isn't to standard.

  • Mentors less-experienced technicians and helps set the fit-and-finish bar for the work center (at the senior level).

Required Education and Experience:

  • Experience appropriate to your level: Level I - willingness to learn with basic mechanical aptitude; Level II - 1-3 years of door/body prep, paint, and install; Level III - 3-5 years including full auto-body door build and complex fitment; Level IV - 5+ years with mastery and the ability to train others.

  • Mechanical aptitude and the manual dexterity for precision door build, fitment, and refinishing.

  • Ability to read job tickets and basic specifications and to use shop systems (Job Manager / ShopTrack) after training.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain respirator fit-test certification.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Automotive collision/refinishing certification (I-CAR / ASE).

  • Prior experience in auto-body, collision, or specialty-vehicle/RV manufacturing.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Skills (to Pay the Bills)

Here's a list of a few competencies that the Commercial Vehicle Remove & Install Technician at Frazer should have...

  • You know the craft cold - body work, refinishing, and assembly - and you keep getting sharper because mastery is the point.

  • You're precise to a fault; tight gaps and clean fitment are non-negotiable for you.

  • You can match a finish so well no one can tell where the repair was.

  • You think like a troubleshooter, working a problem back to its root instead of patching the surface.

  • You take pride in defect-free work and won't pass something that isn't right.

  • You're the person others come to when a build gets tricky - and you're happy to show them how.

Why Frazer?

Frazer is a fast-growing company pushing the boundaries of what's possible in mobile healthcare. You'll join a team of driven, diverse people who take their work seriously and each other personally. We rely on our core values, invest in our people's growth, and give everyone room to unleash their potential.

What's in it for you:

  • A weekly paycheck - you get paid every Friday.

  • Company shutdown from Christmas through New Year's, plus 10 paid holidays and PTO that starts accruing from day one.

  • On-site micromarket, flexible schedules, and a real work-life balance.

  • Free financial wellness classes plus professional development and skills training.

  • 401k with company match, health, dental, and disability coverage.

  • A culture built on honesty, accountability, and continuous improvement - not politics.

Pay set by the level band held:
