Job description:

Position Overview

MD Hyperbaric, a leading provider of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), is seeking a dedicated and skilled part time Hyperbaric Technician to join our Syracuse location team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality care and ensuring a smooth, efficient flow of daily operations within the center. This role requires a commitment to patient safety, attention to detail, and the ability to provide excellent customer service.

This is a part time position - MUST be available to work during the weekday evenings and SATURDAYS.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Intake:

  • Conduct initial intake of patients, verifying appointments and preparing them for their HBOT session.
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork and consents are completed prior to the session.

Safety and Education:

  • Review safety protocols and educational materials with patients, ensuring they understand the procedure and addressing any questions or concerns.

Patient Monitoring:

  • Continuously monitor patients during their HBOT sessions, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
  • Respond promptly to any emergencies or patient needs during the session.

Patient Checkout and Rebooking:

  • Assist patients with checkout processes, including rebooking for future sessions as needed.
  • Provide patients with post-treatment care instructions and answer any follow-up questions.

Payment Processing and Sales:

  • Process payments and present pricing materials to patients, effectively communicating the value and benefits of continued HBOT sessions to close sales.

Chamber Turnover:

  • Ensure efficient turnover of hyperbaric chambers between sessions, including cleaning and preparing the chamber for the next patient.

Oxygen Supply Monitoring:

  • Monitor oxygen supplies, ensuring adequate levels for treatment sessions.
  • Swap oxygen cylinders as needed, following all safety protocols.

Center Cleanliness:

  • Maintain overall tidiness and cleanliness of the center, adhering to hygiene standards and protocols to ensure a safety environment for patients and staff.

Efficient Patient Flow:

  • Coordinate the scheduling and flow of patients and sessions to maximize efficiency and minimize wait times, ensuring a smooth operation of the center.

Qualifications

  • Current certification or licensure as an EMT, LPN, RN, or other relevant clinical credentials.
  • CPR/BLS certification required (or must be obtained prior to start date)
  • Certification as a Hyperbaric Technician is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting, preferably with direct patient care.
  • Strong understand of hyperbaric therapy principles and safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and compassionately.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on patient safety and cleanliness.
