Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Certified Hyperbaric Technician.

As a Hyperbaric Technician at MercyOne, under the direction of the Safety Director, the Hyperbaric Technician administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Institute Physician. Key accountabilities include operating and maintaining the hyperbaric chambers and associated systems and equipment; and upholding regulatory requirements of The Joint Commission, Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) and National Fire Protection.

Position Title: Hyperbaric Technician
Department: Wound Healing Center

Schedule:

  • Day Shift
  • Full Time 1.0 FTE(40 hours a week)

General Requirements:

  • Certification as Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) obtained from an approved Hyperbaric Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) program (CHT or Hyperbaric Specialist preferred or;

Respiratory Therapist in the state of Iowa, EMT-Paramedic in the state of Iowa, Certified Medical Assistant, or a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Iowa

  • Special Training: Basic Life Support
  • More than 1 year experience required
  • Must be comfortable having contact/interactions with others regarding topics that may be complex, detailed, and/or sensitive.
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to deal with a range of complicated situations.

Education:

  • High school plus additional course work
  • Field Of Study: Health Care Studies or hyperbaric studies
