What is hyperbaric therapy?

Hyperbaric therapy, also known as hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), is a medical treatment in which a patient breathes pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber. This process increases the amount of oxygen in the blood, which can help promote healing and fight infection. Hyperbaric therapy is commonly used to treat conditions such as decompression sickness, chronic wounds, carbon monoxide poisoning, and certain types of infections. The treatment is generally safe when performed under medical supervision, but it may not be suitable for everyone. Patients should consult a healthcare provider to determine if hyperbaric therapy is appropriate for their specific condition.
