Position Summary
The Accountant manages all aspects of the month-end close process, completes account reconciliations, prepares sales & use tax returns, assists in internal and external audits, and assists with variance analysis as requested. The Accountant will report directly to the NAM Business Unit Controller.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for timely completion of Month-end close process for multiple business units
  • Responsible for balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Assist in development of Budgets and Forecasts
  • Maintain local ERP general ledger and upload data in Crane Co financial consolidation system, HFM
  • Maintain Fixed Asset records, Capital Expenditure Requests and Audits
  • Monitor and report on inventory obsolescence and slow-moving items
  • Conduct special projects and analysis as requested by management
  • Manage 3rd party commission payments and rebates
  • Assist monthly financial statements
  • Assist with Sales and Use Tax

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and promptly with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal.
  • Technology savvy. Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Hyperion Enterprise and Analyzer a plus.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform accurately while meeting tight deadlines and giving highest attention to detail.
