Position Summary
The Accountant manages all aspects of the month-end close process, completes account reconciliations, prepares sales & use tax returns, assists in internal and external audits, and assists with variance analysis as requested. The Accountant will report directly to the NAM Business Unit Controller.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for timely completion of Month-end close process for multiple business units
- Responsible for balance sheet account reconciliations
- Assist in development of Budgets and Forecasts
- Maintain local ERP general ledger and upload data in Crane Co financial consolidation system, HFM
- Maintain Fixed Asset records, Capital Expenditure Requests and Audits
- Monitor and report on inventory obsolescence and slow-moving items
- Conduct special projects and analysis as requested by management
- Manage 3rd party commission payments and rebates
- Assist monthly financial statements
- Assist with Sales and Use Tax
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and promptly with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal.
- Technology savvy. Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of Hyperion Enterprise and Analyzer a plus.
- Demonstrate ability to perform accurately while meeting tight deadlines and giving highest attention to detail.
