Job description

Job Summary:
  • Perform various mechanical tasks in an industrial setting, including valve replacements, flanged piping assembly, hydro testing, and rigging
  • Safety-oriented and able to work on elevated structures or scaffolding

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Replace various types of valves and assemble flanged piping spools per Isometric drawings
  • Understand and differentiate between all types of gaskets required to complete systems
  • Perform hydro testing and use lock-out/tag-out procedures
  • Complete rigging training provided by PMI
  • Work on elevated structures or scaffolding
  • Use a variety of hand tools to efficiently complete daily tasks

Requirements
Essential qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance or related field
  • Ability to pass a hair follicle drug test
  • TWIC card holder
  • Proficiency in using combination wrenches (7/8" to 2"), adjustable wrenches, banana wedges, channel locks, hammers, sleeve bars, and any other necessary hand tools
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations

Working conditions:
  • Work primarily in an industrial setting, such as chemical plants
  • May be required to work on elevated structures or scaffolding
  • Work schedule may include weekends and holidays
  • May require travel to different job sites

Physical requirements:
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to operate machinery
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Wear PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection at all times while on the job site.
