Company Description Steeped in a tradition of hydropower, American Hydro is a leading supplier and installer of large equipment for the hydro electric industry, specializing in design, engineering, precision CNC manufacture, upgrades and servicing of high-performance, hydro-turbines and large pumps.
We are currently looking for a Field Service Millwright to add to our team located at our York, PA facility. We are a tight-knit group that takes a great deal of pride in what we produce. Job Description Position Summary & Objective
The Field Service Millwright will be responsible for installing equipment, repairing items, and transferring machinery to needed locations. Field service Millwrights work in various settings for different projects and will be responsible for following the safety and environmental requirements as it pertains to the job. Millwrights will make sure that all machines operate properly, review and follow highly technical and complex machinery manuals.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position
  • Provide on-site mechanical labor
  • Supply own small hand tools for use at job sites
  • Complete personal expense reports weekly as required
  • Completes and submits project documentation per the contract requirements as directed by the site FSR
  • Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect malfunctions
  • Testing machinery and equipment to ensure proper functioning
  • Repairing, replacing, and maintaining parts and systems

Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Able to assemble, move, set up, and dismantle tools and machinery
  • Comfortable using large equipment such as cranes and trucks
  • Familiar with a variety of tools and equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints and diagrams to properly install and repair machines
  • Safety minded with ability to follow and contribute to the safety precautions of machinery
  • Hands on and proactive problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and plan work in accordance with established schedules
  • Proficient in the use of reading precision measurement equipment

Required Education and Experience
  • Associate degree with one to two years related experience
  • High School degree with 5 years millwright or similar experience

Licenses or Certifications Required
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Additional Information Environment and Working Conditions
  • Remote location indoor powerhouse is most typical, some outdoor work is required but minimal
