Description
The Conrad Company, a fast growing, award-winning family-owned business located in York, PA is seeking a highly motivated, forward-thinking Hydraulic Solutions Engineer to join the Allied Hydraulic Service team in Hallam, PA. The Hydraulic Solutions Engineer is a customer-facing technical resource responsible for supporting hydraulic application, specification, and system-level problem solving. Allied Hydraulic Services is a leader in the manufacturing and construction industry with hydraulic component repair.
Responsibilities
1. Power Unit & System-Level Application Focus
Identify and evaluate power unit and system-level opportunities within customer applications. Expand discussions beyond component repair into system improvements, redesigns, and long-term performance enhancements. Focus on proper specification, application fit, and overall system optimization.
2. Field-Facing Technical Support
Intentional time in the field on joint calls with Allied and PennAir sales teams. Engage directly with customers in application assessment, system evaluation, and technical problem-solving discussions. This is a hybrid role that combines field-based support with internal coordination.
3. Technical Validation & Solution Development
Support opportunities where technical validation is required. Diagnose hydraulic system issues, recommend appropriate repair, replacement, or redesign solutions, and provide clarity on feasibility, performance, and expected outcomes. This role ensures technical alignment to improve execution and reduce stalled opportunities.
4. Hydraulic Specification Support for PennAir
Act as a shared technical resource for the PennAir sales team. Support hydraulic product specification across supplier lines, assist in application recommendations, and validate solution selection based on customer requirements and operating conditions. Provide technical confidence in customer-facing conversations
Requirements
• Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hydraulics
• Strong technical hydraulic experience
• Ability to directly engage customers in a sales-facing environment
• Ability to create CAD or Solidworks drawings
• Ability to work in CAD or Solidworks
• Preferred CFPS (certified fluid power specialist)
• Familiarity with utilizing an ERP system; experience with Acumatica is a plus
• This is a hybrid position
