Job description

Berendsen Fluid Power is one of North America's largest distributors of hydraulic and pneumatic products and services. We have one of the largest dedicated field sales forces in both the hydraulic and pneumatic industries with locations across the US and Canada.
We are currently seeking a self-motivated, multi-tasking Hydraulic Mechanic for our repair shop in our Sacramento, CA branch.

Your Activities Will Include:
  • Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
  • Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
  • Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.
  • Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.
  • Repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment.
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
  • Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
  • Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment.
  • Record repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Assemble and test proportional valve stacks.
  • Study blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to determine the correct installation or operation of machinery.
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Record parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts or materials as necessary.
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices.
  • Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators.
  • Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery.

Qualifications:
The successful applicant will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, good people skills, and a professional attitude. Background with Danfoss, Eaton Hydraulics, and Vickers is a plus.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Mechanical Experience with a preference for hydraulic repair
  • Hydraulics repair course from an accredited college or equivalent work experience is preferred.
