Job Description

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
This role is based in either San Francisco or Mountain View.
The Sr Manager, Strategic Sourcing role requires a customer orientation with emphasis on leadership, strong analysis, category expertise, global experience, and a passion for driving innovation and solutions. This position requires extensive experience with strategic sourcing methodologies related to indirect procurement commodities including market and spend analysis, building and maintaining a Category Plan, partnering with Business Unit leadership to define priorities, report progress and manage the performance of the Category Plan. In addition, the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager will monitor supplier performance and ensure responsible sourcing practices are implemented.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sourcing for Technology (specifically in the following categories: Software, Hardware, and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services categories) particularly large and complex enterprise agreements, which could include business and technical requirements gathering, supplier selection, due diligence, risk and compliance evaluation, contract definition and term negotiations, financial structuring, and sourcing strategy.
Responsibilities:
  • Own end to end category strategy and execution for Technology Sourcing including Cloud, Software, Telecom, Engineering and Technology Services
  • Responsible for review and approval of contracts, including negotiating and drafting commercial terms
  • Design and implement data-driven sourcing strategies that balance cost, speed, quality, and innovation
  • Manage the execution of request for proposals, bid analysis, contract drafting and editing, and supplier negotiation
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key business stakeholders to facilitate formulation and execution of long-term sourcing strategies establishing clear and measurable goals focused on continuous improvement
  • Serve as subject matter expert for best-in-class procurement practices and tools including experience in working with numerous cross-functional disciplines such as information security, compliance, risk management, supplier risk, and law
  • Identify and execute new or creative approaches, strategies and processes to address business needs
  • Lead and negotiate complex, global agreements, focusing on total value aligned with business stakeholder objectives.
  • Develop and manage internal customer relationships and manage leadership expectations
  • Be the Stakeholder voice into the Strategic Sourcing (SS) team, driving operational excellence into SS global practices and share the sourcing value proposition to the Technology team(s).
  • Operate as a Program Manager for key global initiatives

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years' experience in contract analysis, negotiation, financial modeling and RFP/RFI/RFQ creation and evaluation
  • 8 + years' experience in contract drafting, editing and pricing negotiations

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience, including managing, coaching, and developing sourcing/procurement teams
  • 3+ years' experience supporting Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, or Technology organizations in a strategic sourcing/procurement capacity
  • MBA or JD preferred; CPSM certified preferred; Professional Certifications related to process improvement, strategic sourcing or asset management
  • Executive presence: Comfortable communicating with executives and tailoring effective communications to various levels within the organization
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders and translate technical/business needs into sourcing strategies
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Legal, Finance, Security, Privacy, Risk, and Compliance teams
  • Effectively build relationships as well as influence and drive change in a cross-functional team environment
  • Knowledge and experience negotiating for the following businesses Technology and Professional Services
  • Experience with acquisition integration in a Sourcing Role
  • Experience with Oracle, Service Now, Conga, Salesforce, or other Contract Management systems

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
