About This Role:

Champion & Nash HVAC is looking for a Lead HVAC Installer to lead install teams. Once instruction has been given to you by our Installation Manager, you are responsible for instructing your team and executing a professional install job. You will work hands on with your crew while installing a wide range of HVAC and refrigeration equipment. It is your job to make sure the installation is done properly, safely, and to the high standards of the company all while providing excellent customer service. This is a full-time role that will report into the General Manager and be based out of our growing Pasadena office (Houston, TX).

About You:

  • You have 4+ years of field experience and are looking for an opportunity to grow and be better supported
  • You like to get the job done right the first time
  • A strong communicator and a natural at explaining basic maintenance suggestions to customers
  • You enjoy training and mentoring apprentices

What You'll Do:

  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units for residential customers
  • Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of those heating, air conditioning and ventilation units
  • Maintain proper inventory, parts, tools, and knowledge in using appropriate safety equipment in the vehicle
  • Mentor and train apprentices on the job and provide them with learning opportunities
  • Diagnose service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer's recommendations
  • Excellent customer service abilities in dealing with customers to resolve technical, logistical, and scheduling issues
  • Perform quality work with honesty and diligence and follow company procedures and values

Must Haves:

  • 4+ years of field experience
  • Valid driver's license with insurable driving record
  • Tech Savvy - The ability to use tablets and learn work related software with ease
  • Verifiable experience to develop quotations for repairs and installations of replacement equipment
  • Demonstrable analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans and manuals
  • Proven ability in installing, replacing, and serving HVAC systems in new residential and commercial properties
  • Willingness to work weekends (Saturdays) or on-call shifts when needed

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Must consider safety one's primary job and must have general knowledge of safe working practices and OSHA requirements.
  • To adequately perform the duties of this job the team member is regularly and routinely required to sit; stand, walk, stoop, use hands to handle controls; hear, and talk.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, work in hot and cold environments, and work in small crawl spaces.
  • The ability to regularly lift and/or move 50+ lbs is required.
  • The work environment can vary depending on the season and scope of work – employees are required to work outdoors throughout the seasons.

Pay Range: Pay is dependent on experience; up to $61/hr!!
