Job description

Apex Power LLC is seeking an experienced and dependable HVAC Technician to support projects at various job sites. The HVAC Technician will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial and industrial heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically skilled, able to work independently, and comfortable traveling to different job locations as needed.


Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, airflow, and refrigeration-related issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine equipment inspections.
  • Repair or replace compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, contactors, capacitors, belts, filters, and other HVAC components.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Test HVAC systems to ensure proper operation and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate service records and communicate completed work, equipment issues, and recommended repairs.
  • Respond to service calls and equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.
  • Follow all company, site-specific, and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, customers, and other technicians.
  • Travel to job sites and work extended hours, weekends, or overtime when required.


Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an HVAC Technician, HVAC Service Technician, or similar position.
  • Experience servicing commercial or industrial HVAC equipment preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, refrigeration systems, airflow, and HVAC controls.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools, gauges, meters, and standard HVAC equipment.
  • EPA Section 608 certification preferred or required based on job duties.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass required background checks, drug screenings, and site-access requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and time-management skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for project assignments.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined or elevated areas.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely operate tools and equipment required for the position.


Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience, certifications, and the requirements of each project assignment.
