Job description

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Supports district-wide HVAC operations, energy management initiatives, and operational efficiency programs
  • Experience with commercial HVAC/BAS systems, projects, and controls
  • Knowledge of boiler systems, hydronic systems, pumps, and ventilation equipment
  • Knowledge of HVAC controls, sensors, actuators, VFDs, and communication protocols
  • Knowledge of facility maintenance systems, building operations, life safety systems, AHERA, ADA, OSHA, and applicable
  • Strong detail-orientation, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district
ย Responsibilities
  • HVAC & Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician is responsible for coordinating and supporting Central Office and district-wide HVAC and BAS operations through the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, and optimization of HVAC and control systems, while supporting energy management initiatives and HVAC projects to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations
  • Understands and supports the mission, vision, and values of Harmony Public Schools
  • Serves as the district technical for HVAC systems, Building Automation Systems (BAS), controls, and energy management
  • Installs, inspects, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs commercial HVAC equipment, BAS components, controls, and related mechanical and electrical systems
  • Programs, configures, monitors, and optimizes Building Automation Systems, including controllers, sensors, actuators,
  • communication networks, and field devices
  • Reviews HVAC control sequences, controls programming, equipment selections, project submittals, and construction
  • documents to ensure compliance with district standards and improve system performance
  • Assists with HVAC and BAS commissioning activities for new construction, renovation, and retrofit projects
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems, including rooftop units, split systems, air handling units, exhaust systems, pumps, boilers, and associated controls
  • Coordinates with licensed and insured contractors on HVAC and BAS projects
  • Maintains accurate service records, maintenance logs, BAS documentation, and equipment histories
  • Provides technical guidance and support to maintenance personnel, contractors, and campus staff
  • Complies with all applicable safety regulations, manufacturer requirements, and district procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district
  • carrying; repetitive hand motions;
  • Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions; outside and inside; on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, ladders, and
  • scaffolding and around machinery with moving parts; move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
  • Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally and during emergencies required
  • Moderate travel is required
