Job description

HVAC Project and Sales Manager

The HVAC Project and Sales Manager oversees the planning and execution of HVAC projects from design through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. This role is responsible for developing project plans, managing resources and staff, coordinating with engineers and contractors, monitoring progress, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations, codes, and permitting requirements.

The goal of this position is to deliver successful HVAC projects while meeting client expectations and supporting company objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage detailed project plans and submittals, including project scope, RFIs, schedules, and workflows, to guide projects from initiation through final delivery.
  • Oversee project budgets, allocate resources effectively, manage supplies, and ensure cost efficiency.
  • Lead and manage project teams, including technicians, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure all HVAC work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, applicable codes, and permit requirements.
  • Conduct job site walks to assess project progress, review findings with the estimating team, and address any safety concerns.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks to minimize potential issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates and reports to senior management and clients.
  • Track project costs to ensure work remains within budget.
  • Propose, review, and approve modifications to project plans as needed.
  • Address issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle to ensure successful completion.
  • Manage the final stages of each project, including as-built drawings, project documentation, client handoff, and warranty coordination.
  • Close out projects by reviewing and organizing financial statements, contracts, and other required documentation.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Professional background in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in HVAC estimating, contracting, installation, or project management required.
  • Desired 10+ years of experience in HVAC installation and project management.
  • Knowledge of ServiceTitan preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge and mastery of all Foreman competencies required.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry guidelines, installation procedures, and project specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other construction documents.
  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC tools, equipment, materials, and resources.
  • Strong skills in cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to determine project profitability.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and complex project data.
