As the company continues to expand its Northern California service operations, they are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Manager to lead a highly skilled service team while driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and long-term growth.

Position Overview

The Commercial HVAC Service Manager will oversee all aspects of the Bay Area service department, including field operations, technician development, customer relationships, financial performance, recruiting, and safety. This individual will provide both technical and operational leadership while ensuring exceptional service delivery across preventive maintenance, emergency service, equipment startups, repairs, and complex mechanical projects.

Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership
  • Lead the daily operations of the commercial HVAC service department
  • Oversee preventative maintenance, demand service, emergency response, startup, and repair activities

  • Support major equipment startups, shutdowns, and critical facility outages
  • Provide advanced technical support for complex field troubleshooting

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
  • 5+ years of leadership or service management experience
  • Extensive experience servicing complex commercial mechanical systems
  • Strong troubleshooting background with large-tonnage HVAC equipment
  • Deep understanding of hydronic systems, chilled water plants, and central plant operations
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and controls integration
  • Proven success recruiting, mentoring, and developing service technicians
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Valid California Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting data centers, healthcare, or other mission-critical facilities
  • Factory certifications with OEMs such as Trane, Carrier, Daikin, York, Smardt, Mitsubishi, or Johnson Controls
  • Startup and commissioning experience
  • Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, and Niagara control platforms
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, Construction Management, or a related field
