What is an HVAC apprentice union?

An HVAC Apprentice Union job is a paid, hands-on training position where individuals learn heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) skills under the supervision of experienced union journeymen. Apprentices typically join a union, such as the UA (United Association) or Sheet Metal Workers, which provides structured training through classroom instruction and on-the-job experience. This apprenticeship usually lasts 3-5 years and includes coursework on HVAC systems, refrigeration, electrical components, and safety regulations.
