Job description

JOB TITLE: Wind Site Supv
REQUISITION ID: FOS00K7
DEPARTMENT: Renewable Generation - Persimmon Creek Wind Farm
LOCATION: Vici, Oklahoma
PAY RANGE: $94,600 - $126,100
Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
In addition to supervising employees, additional duties will include supervising contractors and performing site Balance of Plant (BOP) duties: inspections, switching, grounding and initial outage response. Supervisor responsibilities shall extend beyond wind turbine maintenance to performing and supervising work on the O&M building, string roads, crane pads, fencing, communication systems, and computer networks. The supervisor will share warehouse responsibilities requiring proficient use of the CMMS: parts ordering, parts receiving, inventory counts and parts checkout. Warehouse labor will include shipping, receiving, stocking parts, cleaning and forklift operation.
Supervisors will spend about 50% of their time in the field, 50% in the office or warehouse.
• Provides advanced guidance and oversight of technician maintenance, troubleshooting and repair work on
80 GE 2.3MW and 2.5MW wind turbines.
• Daily schedules all technician work orders, prioritizing work according to criticality and ensuring work completion necessary for PM compliance and overall site availability.
• Prepares information, tooling and supplies for the technicians so that all planned work will be ready to be executed safely, efficiently and effectively.
• Ensures all work orders are properly completed with accurate FMEA, worktime and parts consumption information.
• Works as part of a team to develop and improve site procedures, policies, training programs, safety programs, and work practices.
• Encourages technician career development by fostering the advancement of their skills and responsibilities.
• Performs turbine audits assuring technician and contractor compliance with quality and craftsmanship standards.
• Performs Safety Observation Surveys on site workers and activities.
• Uses information from predictive technologies and implements sound maintenance practices to continually adapt technician behavior towards proactive, reliability centered maintenance.
• Maintains storeroom and inventory. Performs storeroom tasks.
• Maintains the site within regulatory compliance of all federal, state, and local regulations and associated permits, including applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Addresses site concerns from local, state, and federal agencies.
• Oversees and administers site computer hardware/software systems including the WTG SCADA system.
• Provides management and upper management with daily, weekly, monthly status reports as needed.
• Participates in the development of the annual O&M budget and supervises the site in accordance with the budget.
• Performs minor facility (BOP) maintenance.
• Perform high voltage switching operations; apply grounds, and LOTO in the substation.
• Perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly substation inspections.
• Perform HV switching in the substation/collection system and at the WTG's.
• Perform minor maintenance and parts replacement on substation main transformer components.
• Complete quarterly visits to other Evergy wind sites to observe operations
• Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
This position requires a high school diploma or GED. A technical degree or engineering degree is highly preferred. Candidates must have 5 years of technical knowledge and experience with GE (2.3 MW and/or 2.5 MW) Wind Turbines, BOP operations or high voltage switching. Prior supervisory or team leader experience is required.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:
Candidates should be proficient in computer programs including Microsoft Office products with a strong emphasis on Excel, computerized maintenance management systems (Maximo), and SCADA systems. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to work independently, a willingness to GE SCADA policies and procedures in a remote location with minimal oversight, have good oral and written communication skills, project supervisory skills, and experience in directing a team.
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding and/or Testing:
Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving history. Must be able to obtain high angle rescue certification within one year of hire and maintain the certification.
Working Conditions:
Candidates must be able and willing to climb 90-meter towers to fulfill the duties described herein. Some evening/weekend work is expected. Being on-call and living (or relocating to) within 45 minutes of the site is required.
