Overview

The Molding Systems Analyst is responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing systems and processes related to injection molding operations. This role combines strong data analysis, MRP expertise, and production scheduling knowledge to improve planning accuracy, system effectiveness, and operational performance. Acting as an agent of change, the Molding System Analyst partners with schedulers, planners, and manufacturing leadership to drive continuous improvement, enhance visibility through reporting, and support efficient injection molding schedules.

Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze production, scheduling, capacity, and inventory data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance reports and dashboards to support molding operations, scheduling, and management decision-making.
  • Translate complex manufacturing data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems.

MRP & Planning Support

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for MRP systems supporting injection molding operations.
  • Analyze and improve MRP parameters including lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, and routings.
  • Support material planning to ensure availability aligned with production schedules.
  • Troubleshoot MRP-related issues impacting molding schedules and production execution.

Scheduling & Injection Molding Operations

  • Support injection molding schedulers with system insights, data validation, and schedule optimization.
  • Analyze machine capacity, tooling availability, labor constraints, and cycle times.
  • Assist in developing feasible, efficient production schedules that meet customer and business requirements.
  • Identify scheduling conflicts and recommend data-driven solutions.

Process Planning & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze current-state process planning and scheduling workflows.
  • Document standard processes and identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and improvement.
  • Act as an agent of change by driving adoption of improved systems, data standards, and planning practices.
  • Participate in or lead continuous improvement initiatives related to molding operations and planning systems.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Support

  • Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and IT teams.
  • Support system enhancements, upgrades, and testing related to MRP and scheduling tools.
  • Provide training, guidance, and day-to-day support to schedulers and planners.
  • Communicate changes, best practices, and insights clearly across teams.
Must Haves
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing systems, planning, or analyst role.
  • Strong experience with MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Background in production scheduling and process planning.
  • Experience supporting injection molding operations and schedules (IQMS)
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills (Excel, BI tools, or similar).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems supporting injection molding environments.
  • Knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling constraints, and machine capacities.
  • Experience building dashboards or advanced reports (Power BI, Tableau, SQL, etc.).
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience acting as a change agent within manufacturing operations.
