Role: Onsite Irrigation Technician

Location: Tampa, FL

Community: Hunters Green

Pay Range: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Job Type: Part-Time

Typical Schedule: Monday- Friday: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Hunter’s Green in New Tampa is a gated development exemplified by harmonizing suburban life and nature. Against a backdrop of 43 lakes on 65 acres of protected wetlands, families enjoy 23 unique enclaves taking advantage of community facilities with designated bike lanes, playgrounds, lighted tennis, basketball, volleyball, soccer and baseball facilities, jogging trail with a 15-station exercise circuit and an off-leash dog park. Also located on property, separate membership at Hunter’s Green Country Club can include golfing on the 18-Hole Tom Fazio designed course or privileges at their Tennis and Athletic Center. Next door, Flatwoods Nature Park offers a 7-mile loop for biking, hiking and bird watching. Shopping and restaurant options abound right outside our 24/7 manned gates.


Role Summary

The Onsite Irrigation Technician maintains irrigation and sprinkler systems for all common areas. Hunter's Green common area (110 acres) irrigation is governed by the Southwest Florida Water Management District. The permit requires the association to report weekly the quantities used to augment and irrigate. 


Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair irrigation issues across the property
  • Replace and adjust sprinkler heads (spray, rotor, drip)
  • Repair leaks in lines, valves, and fittings
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues (solenoids, wiring, controllers)
  • Run zones and identify: Coverage zones (dry spots/overspray), Zones not activating
  • Adjust heads for proper alignment and function
  • Perform routine walk-throughs to catch issues early
  • Keep the system running efficiently and without major downtime
  • Report larger or recurring issues to management
  • Maintain the irrigation master pump and keep the pump area clean of vegetation and garbage

  • Ability to install, operate, troubleshoot, and repair manual and/or computerized irrigation systems
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to perform maintenance and groundskeeping procedures
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Ability to perform irrigation tasks such as operate timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers
  • Knowledge of manual and/or computerized irrigation systems
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach frequently.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier with assistance.
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and machinery safely.
  • Visual acuity to inspect equipment, read gauges, and perform detailed tasks.
  • Hearing ability to detect alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions in noisy environments.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise, outdoors).
  • Ability to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, on-call, and overtime as required.

Pay 

$22.00 to 25.00 per hour (Depending on experience)
