Job description

If your idea of a good workday involves canine behavior, helping people in crisis, collaborating with animal welfare partners, responding to unexpected emergencies, and celebrating plenty of heartwarming wins - you might be our next Canine Program Manager.

Greenhill Humane Society is looking for a people-centered Canine Program Manager to lead our canine team and oversee the care, welfare, behavior, housing, enrichment, and placement of dogs in our shelter.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can develop people, make sound animal welfare decisions, manage competing priorities, and keep a busy canine program moving forward. Youโ€™ll work closely with Veterinary, Foster, Volunteer, Outreach, and Customer Service teams while helping shape policies, systems, and pathways that improve outcomes for dogs and the people who care about them.

Weโ€™re looking for:

  • Strong team leadership and coaching skills
  • Professional canine-care experience and knowledge of behavior and welfare
  • Excellent judgment, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative, compassionate approach to challenging situations
  • Shelter experience preferred; transferable animal-care and leadership experience welcome

Full-time; weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings may be required.

How to Apply:

Visit https://www.green-hill.org/employment/ for the full job description and information about working at Greenhill Humane Society.

To apply, email your resume and cover letter to careers@green-hill.org. Tell us about your leadership experience, your approach to canine welfare, and why youโ€™re excited about leading a high-volume shelter canine program.

Salary: $52,000โ€“$56,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

Greenhill offers a competitive benefits package that includes:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and sick leave
  • Paid holidays
  • Employer-matched retirement benefits
  • Professional development and continuing education opportunities
  • Employee assistance resources
  • Pet-related discounts, including food, veterinary care, and adoptions

Benefits and eligibility are subject to Greenhillโ€™s current policies and plan requirements.
