Job description

HRย Generalistย ย 

Waystoneย is seeking an HR Generalist to support key HR functions across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, HRIS administration, compliance tracking, leave administration, and employee support.ย This role blends relationship-building with strong administrative and organizational skills and serves as a key operational partner within the HR team.ย ย 

Working closely with employees, managers, recruiters, payroll, and leadership, the HR Generalist helps ensure HR processes are completed accurately,ย timely, and consistently while supporting a positive employee experience.ย ย 

Location:ย 439 South Union Street,ย Suiteย 401 Lawrence, MA 01843ย ย 

Schedule:ย Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm.ย This position is not remote; it is on-site at our main office.ย This positionย is benefitย eligible as of date of hire.ย ย 

Compensation:ย This is a 40-hour,ย non-exempt,ย full-time position. Theย compensation range isย $62,000 - $80,000ย annually.ย This position offers opportunities for professional growth and development within the HR Generalist career path.ย ย

Keyย Responsibilities:ย 

HR Operations Supportย 

  • Promote positive employee experience by providing responsive, professional, and customer-focused support.ย ย 
  • Monitor and respond to HR mailbox inquiries inย a timelyย and professional manner.ย ย 
  • Triage requests and route inquiries to theย appropriate HRย team member as needed.ย ย 
  • Assistย employees and managersย withย HR processes, forms, resources,ย and general inquiries.ย ย 

Onboarding & Employee Administrationย 

  • Coordinate onboarding activities and pre-employment requirements, ensuring employees receive the information, resources, and access needed prior to theirย startย date.ย ย 
  • Monitor onboarding progress, follow up on outstanding requirements, and escalate delays that mayย impactย start dates.ย ย 
  • Processย employee changes, transfers, leaves, and terminations in Paycom.ย ย 

HRIS,ย Complianceย & Leave Administrationย 

  • Maintainย employee personnel files,ย HR records,ย andย accurateย employee dataย within Paycom.ย ย 
  • Trackย required certifications, training requirements, and compliance documentation.ย ย 
  • Support workers' compensation, unemployment, and leave administration activities, includingย maintainingย relatedย documentation and tracking.ย ย 
  • Coordinate leave administration activities with employees, managers, payroll, and HR leadership.ย ย 
  • Escalate complex leave matters asย appropriate.ย ย 
  • Assistย withย maintainingย compliance-related records and reporting requirements.ย ย 

Reporting &ย Processย Improvementย 

  • Maintain HR reports and workforce trackers.ย ย 
  • Identifyย operational challenges, recommend solutions, andย participateย inย continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and employee experience.ย ย 

Qualifications:ย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may also be considered.ย ย 
  • Bilingualย proficiencyย in English and Spanish preferred.ย ย 
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience.ย ย 
  • Demonstrated ability toย identifyย issues, recommend solutions, and improve processes.ย ย 
  • Demonstratedย proficiencyย with standard office software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and comfort using general office technology.ย ย 
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms, such as Paycom, with the ability to learn and navigate new systems effectively.ย ย 
  • Strong communicationย and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.ย ย 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and remain organized in aย fastpacedย environment with frequent interruptions.ย ย 
  • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment.ย ย 
  • Highly organized,ย detailoriented, and efficient, with strongย timemanagementย skills and the ability toย maintainย accuracy while managing competing priorities.ย ย
