Position Summary

Provide Human Resource leadership and support for the Reno distribution center (DC) associates with a customer service and compliance focus. Collaborate with the HR team to promote company and department initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

Recruitment Onboarding

  • Partner with DC leadership to identify staffing levels and skills base. Post open positions, screen candidates, and schedule interviews.
  • Participate in local job fairs and identify new avenues for recruiting.
  • Accurately and timely process new hires in our HR/Payroll, timekeeping, production, and security systems.
  • Verify associate information and ensure all pre-employment and onboarding activities are completed including background checking, I-9s, and E-Verify.
  • Welcome new associates with a personalized onboarding experience.

Associate Relations

  • Provide HR support for associates regarding policies, procedures, payroll, benefits, etc. Respond timely to inquiries, handle and investigate issues, and maintain related documentation.
  • Coordinate with leadership on performance and attendance issues including drafting and issuing warnings and processing terminations.

Development & Culture

  • Participate in company culture initiatives and support activities that promote respect, inclusion, and positive associate engagement in the DC.
  • Use design software to create communication postings and emails.
  • Assist with the development and execution of leadership and associate training.
  • Be a safety leader by participating in DC safety meetings, investigating incidents and injuries, and processing workersโ€™ compensation claims.

Data Maintenance

  • Maintain associate data in the HR system including hires, status changes, terminations, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate hires, status changes, and terminations to IT, Payroll, etc.
  • Troubleshoot data issues as they arise.

Reporting & Accounting

  • Maintain personnel records.
  • Update the DC staffing report.
  • Collect and publish quarterly business reports.
  • Process invoices from outside vendors monthly.
  • Provide HR, Payroll, and timekeeping reports as needed.

Education

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree or equivalent in experience required.

Relevant Work Experience

  • Two or more years of experience in Human Resources preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams required.
  • Experience with HR/Payroll processing systems is strongly preferred. ADP knowledge is a plus.

Other Qualifications

  • Must be able to build positive relationships with DC leadership and associates to promote a positive work culture at the DC with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Detail-oriented and customer service-minded.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment.
  • Must be able to prioritize and organize work activities to use time efficiently and to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person, in writing, and on the phone/video.
  • Ability to handle associate's needs and concerns in a professional, discreet, and respectful manner. Maintain confidentiality of company and associate sensitive information.
  • Spanish proficiency is a plus.
