Job description

We are looking for a pioneering HR Generalist to transition our HR operations from the ground up. We need a professional to build the systems, culture, and compliance frameworks that will allow our Residential Care Agency to scale safely and sustainably.

You wonโ€™t just be following a handbookโ€”you will be writing it.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement the end-to-end employee lifecycle, from job posting and interviewing to offboarding.
  • Update and maintain Employee Handbook, tailoring policies to the unique 24/7 nature of residential care.
  • Screen, recruit, and interview potential employees
  • Ensure all personnel files meet Wisconsin DHS 88 requirements (caregiver background checks, training registries, and health screenings)
  • On-board and train new employees
  • Implement company culture, values and policies
  • Act as the primary point of contact for staff concerns, mediating conflict with empathy and fairness.
  • Track and schedule mandatory continuing education training to maintain compliance.
  • Provide management with requested reports and documents.
  • Oversee payroll processing and benefit administration.
  • Coordinate events focused on employee recognition

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in HR, ideally in a "solo" capacity or a small business environment.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal labor and employment laws
  • Ability to build rapport with all employees
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Being comfortable with ambiguity and enjoying the "messy" process of creating order out of chaos.
