Job description

Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing production processes, including human work factors, quality control, producibility, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination.
Working Procedure:
Getting Information - Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Examples of information gathered include; Instructions, drawings, specifications, schedules, invoices, or flow charts
  • Information will need to be gathered from a variety of departments including; Manufacturing, Engineering, Accounting, Programs, Marketing, Logistics, Quality Assurance, and/or Contracts
  • Monitor the progress of subcontract facilities providing assembly, fabrication, or integration support to TCOM

Making Decisions and Solving Problems - Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Resolve engineering or science problems
  • Review drawings and RNs for producibility
  • Review EAMs to establish special operating instructions and to provide an estimate of man hours required to produce the items required

Identifying Objects, Actions, and Events - Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Understand engineering data or reports
  • Review Purchase Requisition to ensure part producibility and to screen for potential problems which may prevent suppliers from meeting required dates
  • Obtains, evaluates, and disseminates Manufacturing and Production Engineering information and data as required

Interacting With Computers - Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
  • Assist Design Engineering and Drafting in developing drawings and parts lists documentation

Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Confer with engineering, manufacturing, managerial or supervisory personnel. Provide direction and coach lower classified personnel
  • Conduct or attend staff, planning, production and program meetings and relay updated relevant information to the appropriate parties
  • Provide support to Manufacturing & Procurement in determining production span times and lead times for Master Production Schedule

Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings - Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers or other functional groups in solving work problems and issues
  • Investigates and alleviates problems encountered in manufacturing. The PE will utilize the REA form as a means to communicate design deficiencies

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering field. Degree in Industrial Engineering preferred.
Experience Requirement: Two years of experience preferred, preferably in the military aerospace environment. Experience monitoring work progress of assembly, fabrication and integration in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Knowledge of Government specifications and standards is desirable.
In compliance with Maryland state and local laws, the salary range for this role in Maryland is $79,000 - $110,00. The range provided is a general guideline and good faith estimate representative of all experience levels but is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. TCOM considers several factors when extending an offer including, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, a candidate's experience, education/training, key skills, internal equity, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
