Job description

The person in this position serves as an Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist for the Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Employment (EEO/AE), Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), and external Civil Rights (CR) functions for Dayton VA Medical Center/Healthcare System within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).Qualifications:SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Requires one full year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-9) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: demonstrate knowledge of EEO laws, regulations, and policies, along with experience interpreting and applying this knowledge to complex situations. Experience managing or supporting compliance, investigations, program analysis, reporting, or related operational activities. Experience in identifying and addressing barriers to equal employment, developing actionable solutions, and integrating human resources principles and/or related principles in a professional setting to support organizational goals. Demonstrate strong abilities in research, problem-solving, regulatory interpretation, and effective communication, including the ability to advise managers and stakeholders on complex issues. (Resume(s) must clearly support the duties and experience required for this position. We will not make assumptions regarding experience.) OR
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related. OR
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate-level education (in excess of 2 years) and specialized experience as described above may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
