Job Title: Subcontract Senior Specialist

Job Location: Montreal, QC

Compensation Range: Between $79,500 - $129,500 CDN annually

The Subcontract Senior Specialist is responsible for managing subcontractor relationships, leading negotiations of commercial terms and conditions, and ensuring effective execution of third-party deliveries. This role bridges Procurement, Legal, Operations, and Project Management to mitigate risk, optimize cost, and ensure on-time, compliant delivery of goods and services

Responsible for the procurement of subcontracts including the management of cost, schedule and performance parameters. Implement sourcing strategies, assess supplier risk (including financial) and develops mitigation plans.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services.
  • Prepares bid packages, conducts bidders' conferences, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates subcontract provisions, selects or recommends subcontractors, writes awards, and administers resulting subcontracts.
  • Senior professional with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management and supply chain.
  • Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight.
  • Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures.
  • Travel expected 10% with occasional overseas travel.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation and drafting of commercial terms and conditions.
  • Strong understanding of third-party logistics and delivery management.
  • Experience in industries such as construction, manufacturing, energy, aerospace, or large-scale project environments is preferred.

  • Knowledge of contract law fundamentals and procurement best practices.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance.
