Job description

Location: Roger Wood Facility | 7 Alfred St, Savannah, GA 31408

Schedule: Fully Onsite

Company: Sigma Foods

Join Sigma at an Exciting Time of Growth

At Sigma, we're passionate about bringing beloved food brands to tables across the world — and we know our people are the heart of that success. As we continue to grow, we are excited to welcome the Roger Wood facility into the Sigma family and build on its strong legacy of quality, community, and craftsmanship.

We are looking for a hands-on, people-focused Human Resources Manager to support our newly acquired Roger Wood facility. This is a fully onsite role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys building trusted relationships, and is energized by the opportunity to help shape culture, strengthen employee engagement, and support business transformation.

What You'll Do

As the HR Manager, you will serve as a key partner to facility leadership and employees, helping drive HR initiatives that support operational excellence, employee experience, and Sigma's values. You will be responsible for leading day-to-day HR activities while also helping integrate the site into Sigma's people practices, systems, and culture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a trusted HR partner to plant leadership, supervisors, and employees.
  • Support employee relations by providing coaching, guidance, and timely issue resolution.
  • Partner with leaders to strengthen engagement, communication, accountability, and team effectiveness.
  • Lead HR processes including onboarding, performance management, investigations, policy interpretation, and employee support.
  • Support change management efforts as the Roger Wood facility transitions into the Sigma organization.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and site leaders to support staffing needs, retention strategies, and workforce planning.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, employment laws, and HR best practices.
  • Use HR data and insights to identify trends, recommend solutions, and improve the employee experience.
  • Champion Sigma's culture, values, and fundamentals throughout the facility.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a strong HR leader who is approachable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable balancing strategic partnership with hands-on execution. The ideal candidate has experience supporting hourly populations in a manufacturing, food production, distribution, or similar operational environment.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing, food production, warehouse, or plant environment.
  • Prior experience supporting employee relations, investigations, performance management, and HR compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Experience partnering with operational leaders and hourly employee populations.
  • Ability to work fully onsite at the Roger Wood facility.
  • Strong communication, coaching, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Why Join Us

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact at a facility with a proud history while helping shape its next chapter as part of Sigma. You'll have the chance to build relationships, influence culture, support leaders and employees, and contribute to the continued growth of a global food company.

At Sigma, we believe great workplaces are built through trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence. We are looking for someone who is ready to lead with care, act with purpose, and help our teams succeed.
