Human Resource Generalist

Job Purpose
The Human Resources Generalist in an important role that balances the needs of the team members with the needs of the business. This role is responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resources Department, including engaging with team members with collaboration and communication, facilitating recruitment and retention of strong ADVICS team, and facilitating programs and policies that meet the organizational objectives and compliance.
Objectives of this role:
  • Participate in the development of HR objectives and systems, such as department metrics, HR program management, policies, process and work instructions, and business reporting.
  • Protect the team members and business by assisting in the development, communication, and compliance with all policies, procedures, and laws - and provide guidance and interpretation for business operations
  • Ensure HR program and policies are aligned with business needs and positive team member experience, including communication, recognition, inclusion, and professional development/training.
  • Ensure strong, collaborative workforce with effective recruiting and retention programs and processes

Role Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated and effective HR assistance/support to all team members that covers leave of absence and FMLA management, conduct and capability, complaints/concerns, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and accuracy of employee handbook, process/work instructions, and organizational chart, including contribute to development and revisions
  • Ensure smooth onboarding process for all exempt and non-exempt team members in collaboration with managers to deliver exceptional first week experience, including new hire orientation, resources, training plan, communication, and system/process setup
  • Facilitate/assist with payroll processing and benefits administration, including understanding payroll practices, team member accruals and bonus programs, employee benefits and benefit change processes.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; record retention; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Lead and facilitate investigation and resolution of compliance issues, such as harassment, team member conflict, performance management, ethics

Leadership Responsibilities:

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field
  • At least one year of human resources experience

Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of human resources experience
  • HR certification
  • Background in training and safety management

Position Type/Hours
  • This is a full-time, exempt position that works primarily Monday-Friday, supporting all shifts as needed.

Travel
  • Occasional regional travel is required.

Reports to:
  • This position reports to the Human Resources Manager.
