Job description

The Human Resources(HR) Advisor will be responsible for day-to-day generalist activities.Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, you will support business needs byassisting with HR transactions, systems and processes - including recruitment,performance management, compensation planning, leadership coaching, and HRreporting. As a valued member of our HR team, you willcollaborate with a diverse range of employees and stakeholders throughout theorganization. You are highly organized, able to effectively manage competingpriorities, and consistently demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail. Youembrace teamwork and are committed to continuous improvement, consistentlylooking for opportunities to enhance processes and apply best practices.

This is a full-timerole (40 hours per week) based out of the downtown Calgary office. Thisposition is eligible to work from home up to one day per week.

Human Resources Advisor - The Role

  • Support HR activities such as hiring, onboarding, employee life cycle adjustments and payroll
  • Prepare materials, tools and documentation needed to support HR programs
  • Prepare job descriptions and job ads; post jobs
  • Assist with full-cycle recruitment; schedule interviews, support selection process, and coordinate new hire paperwork and orientation
  • Coordinate with internal payroll resources to answer employee questions
  • Provide backup payroll support and vacation coverage, as necessary
  • Compile and analyze human resource data and metrics to support HR initiatives
  • Create and manage regular and ad hoc reports to support data-driven decision making, both within the HR team and the broader organization
  • Provide assistance to employees regarding benefits, policies, programs, and procedures
  • Provide operational support including processing confidential reports and documents
  • Assist with coaching and managing employee relations items
  • Maintain confidentiality of HR information
  • Assist with special assignments and annual cycle projects (e.g., succession planning, union negotiations, annual compensation planning, etc.)

Human Resources Advisor - The Person

  • A positive can-do attitude with strong interpersonal skills, strong team player
  • Post secondary education in Human Resources, business administration or similar
  • 2- 5 years of Human Resources experience or in a similar role
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel and MS Suite preferred
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience using PayWorks would be considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively and professionally to all levels within the organization
  • Adaptability and flexibility to prioritize tasks from various members of the team
  • Initiative to identify process improvements and desire to improve delivery of human resources services
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry would be considered an asset
  • CPHR designation or working toward designation is an asset
