Job description

Amentum is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner with an active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance to join our team in Northern, VA. As an HRBP, you will act as a partner and consultant to the business.

Responsibilities
  • Acts as an initial employee/manager point of contact for routine HR activities: staffing, compensation, leave, recognition and morale, training and development, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, and manager coaching.
  • Facilitates communication between union representatives and management, serving as liaison to ensure both parties understand and adhere to the terms of the union contract.
  • Monitors compliance with labor agreement terms, collaborating with management and union officials to ensure workplace policies align with the negotiated contract and addressing potential violations proactively.
  • Partners with recruiting to facilitate onboarding actions, and with on‑site Security and corporate Employee Relations team on employee relations issues, investigations, and shared responsibilities.
  • Monitors and tracks HR metrics for the assigned contract.
  • Acts as a liaison between employees, leaders, and corporate departments including benefits and payroll.
  • Provides proactive guidance to managers/employees on performance management, coaching, career development, counseling, or disciplinary actions, communications, training, employee relations issues, and interpretation of employment laws and company policies.
  • Supports compliance efforts, including the communication, dissemination, and implementation of company policies and federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Supports program HR and HRIS activities, validating HRIS data accuracy, org‑chart alignment, Service Contract Act pay rate, wage, health & welfare changes, service bridge processing, vacation/leave info, and other key information; identifies errors and liaises with appropriate leader.
  • Responds to employment‑related questions from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters to appropriate staff; conducts follow‑up to close inquiries.
  • Supports program and company initiatives; tracks and prepares reports for analysis and distribution.
  • Helps identify best practices and makes recommendations to improve the employee/manager experience, including new hire assimilation, training, and performance management.
  • Drives change awareness by developing knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Must work on site 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active TS/SCI security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous SCA/Union experience.
  • Experience with government contracting.
  • Working knowledge of WorkDay as the HRIS.
Compensation

$90,000‑$110,000 USD. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
