Job description

Reporting to the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, the assistant coach will be directly responsible for developing a comprehensive strength & conditioning program for Cheerleading.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate Degree preferred from Accredited institution in: Exercise Science, Human Physiology, Kinesiology, Physical Education or related Health Science program.
  • NSCA CSCS certified
  • Ability develop and implement strength and conditioning programs that will allow student athletes to condition and train in such a way as to successfully compete on the NCAA Division I level
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with High Level strength and conditioning programs for sports listed
  • USAW certified or proficient in Olympic Lifting
  • CPR with AED certification
  • Kettlebell competence
  • Aerobic & anaerobic conditioning experience

Typical Duties:
  • Work cooperatively with sport coaches to develop and implement individualized strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes of assigned teams.
  • Conduct physical screening/assessment of individual student athletes of assigned teams, and implement customized, corrective exercises.
  • Maintain National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.
  • Execute all duties and responsibilities within Lipscomb University, Atlantic Sun Conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Work closely with head strength coach and coaching, athletic training, & sports nutritionist staffs
  • Work cooperatively with Athletic Training Staff to support the injury prevention and/or rehabilitation of Lipscomb University athletes.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment, including weight machines and other strength and conditioning equipment, including regular inspection, recommendation on repair/replacement as necessary.
