The expected salary range for this position is $15.00-$16.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Maintains Human Kinetics grounds, primarily weeding. This position requires working independently outdoors, often in the heat. Weeding requires long periods of working from a kneeling position. The groundskeeper must have the ability to operate various types of power equipment, including lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment. They must be able to use hand tools required for landscaping. The position requires the ability to follow instructions, complete assignments, and manage time well.

This is a part-time temporary position, working 32 hours/week for a maximum of 448 hours. The groundskeeper must be at least 16 years old.

Essential Functions

  1. Keeps the HK property well-groomed and free from weeds.
  2. Mows lawns, trims weeds, and rakes leaves as assigned.
  3. Picks up and removes trash prior to mowing a designated area.
  4. Empties trash and recycling containers.
  5. Trims bushes, shrubs, and hedges.
  6. Prepares soil and plants flowers, bushes, hedges, or shrubs.
  7. Performs general custodial and maintenance functions when requested.

Work Environment: Frequently working outdoors in high/humid temperatures. Occasionally working indoors with exposure to loud noises and fumes.

Field Equipment: Frequent use of a shovel, rake, hand tools, and mop. Occasional use of a mower or ladder. Rare use of a tiller or power tools.

Physical Demands: Frequent standing, lifting (50lb), carrying, walking, raking, weeding, kneeling, bending, stretching, pushing, and pulling. Occasional sitting.

Rare use of a vehicle, phone, computer, or copy machine.

Mental Demands: Occasional problem-solving skills required. Rare reading/writing, organization, data interpretation, supervision, and decision-making skills required.
